Build the Future of Matter

If you have read Blake and Nietzsche and also publish in Physical Review Letters, you may be our kind of person.

The Campus & Culture

The Atumics Research Campus sits on the Danish coast — a former naval research facility transformed into a modernist complex of green-roofed laboratories, workshop halls, and residential quarters. The architecture is deliberately Scandinavian: clean lines, natural materials, and an intimate relationship with the landscape. The sea is visible from every building.

We chose this location because great research requires both concentration and serenity. The campus is isolated enough to focus and beautiful enough to inspire. Researchers live and work in close proximity — the molecular physicist and the nuclear engineer eat lunch together, because at Atumics the distinction between their disciplines is a historical accident, not a fundamental boundary.

The culture is one of intellectual ambition tempered by institutional accountability. We publish. We file patents. We submit to regulatory review. We collaborate with universities and national laboratories. We are not a secretive startup — we are a research institution that happens to also be a company.

Who We Seek

Atumics does not hire for narrow specialization. We hire people who are technically excellent in at least one domain but intellectually curious about all of them. The ideal Atumics researcher has a deep expertise — quantum physics, organic chemistry, electromagnetic theory, machine learning, nuclear engineering — and a refusal to accept that their field's boundaries are real.

We look for people who:

  • Have published original research or hold patents in their domain
  • Can explain their work to an intelligent non-specialist without dumbing it down
  • Are frustrated by the gap between what science knows and what engineering delivers
  • Believe that expanding human capability is a moral obligation, not merely a commercial opportunity
  • Are willing to relocate to Denmark and commit to a multi-year research programme
